Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Welder-1 to join our team, where precision, safety, and operational excellence are paramount. This role is critical to supporting welding, blending, and repair operations on gas turbine components, ensuring adherence to approved work instructions, process specifications, engineering requirements, and stringent quality standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional welding proficiency while actively contributing to Lean initiatives, problem-solving, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity across the production line.

Key Responsibilities

The Welder-1 will be responsible for executing welding processes with the highest level of craftsmanship and accuracy. Your core duties will include:

• Welding Operations: Perform welding tasks in strict accordance with approved work instructions, process specifications, and engineering requirements to ensure flawless execution.
• Preparation and Setup: Prepare parts, surfaces, and welding equipment meticulously to guarantee optimal setup and seamless process execution.
• Technical Interpretation: Read, interpret, and apply work instructions, welding procedures, technical documentation, and engineering drawings to maintain precision in all welding operations.
• Equipment Operation and Monitoring: Safely set up, operate, and monitor welding equipment to achieve consistent and high-quality results.
• Quality Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of parts before, during, and after welding to verify conformance with quality requirements and identify any defects or nonconforming conditions.
• Data Recording and Maintenance: Accurately record and maintain process and production data as required to support traceability and compliance.
• Repair and Rework Support: Assist in repair and rework activities in alignment with approved procedures and quality standards to restore components to optimal condition.
• Standard Work Adherence: Follow Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets to ensure consistency, safety, and efficient line flow throughout all operations.
• 5S Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards to foster a productive and hazard-free environment.
• Lean Principles Application: Demonstrate a strong understanding of Lean principles and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, cycle time, and waste reduction.
• Process Improvement: Identify and communicate opportunities for enhancing standard work, line organization, visual management, and process discipline to strengthen overall Lean implementation.
• Production Support: Work within takt time and standard process flow expectations to meet production goals and maintain operational efficiency.
• System Utilization: Operate shop floor systems and interfaces, such as ELM, SmartShop, and MyAndon, as required to support seamless workflow and data management.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to company quality policies, safety requirements, applicable procedures, and standard work to ensure a secure and compliant work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma, technical college degree, welding certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in welding or related industrial manufacturing operations.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding, repair welding, or related industrial manufacturing environments.

Desired Characteristics

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in welding gas turbine components or other precision aerospace/industrial parts.
