Key Responsibilities

As the Design Manager, your responsibilities will be multifaceted and impactful:

• Lead and Oversee Retail Design Excellence: Direct all aspects of retail design, tenant design reviews, and fit-out delivery to ensure alignment with Hamat Company’s high standards and brand vision. Drive consistency in design quality, aesthetic coherence, and functional efficiency across our mall portfolio.
• Enforce Design Governance and Compliance: Develop and uphold robust retail design guidelines, fit-out manuals, and governance frameworks to ensure all projects adhere to approved specifications, quality benchmarks, and operational requirements. Act as the final authority in design approvals and technical compliance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration and Coordination: Bridge the gap between tenants, external consultants, contractors, and internal teams to facilitate seamless project execution. Leverage your leadership skills to resolve conflicts, streamline workflows, and ensure timely delivery of fit-out initiatives.
• Innovate for Customer-Centric Design: Lead mall enhancement and design improvement initiatives that elevate customer experiences, asset performance, and market competitiveness. Stay ahead of industry trends to incorporate cutting-edge design solutions that differentiate our malls in the Saudi retail landscape.
• Technical and Project Leadership: Provide visionary direction to design teams, ensuring technical excellence and project success. Utilize your project management expertise to oversee budgets, timelines, and resource allocation while maintaining a focus on quality and innovation.

Qualifications and Experience

To thrive in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a passion for retail design. We are seeking candidates with:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably in Electro-mechanical, Electrical, or a related field) or an equivalent qualification. Advanced degrees or certifications in retail design, interior architecture, or project management are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in engineering design, with a proven track record of leading design teams or functions. Your background should include:
• Extensive experience in retail design, tenant design reviews, and fit-out projects, demonstrating your ability to deliver high-impact, customer-focused environments.
• Strong expertise in technical leadership and project management, with a history of coordinating complex projects involving tenants, consultants, and contractors.
• Proven skills in stakeholder management, planning, and problem-solving, enabling you to navigate challenges and drive successful project outcomes.
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabia’s retail and commercial real estate landscape, including local regulations, market trends, and design standards.
