Data Center Engineer (Saudi Nationals Only)

Position Overview

BRDigitech WLL is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dammam. This role is exclusively open to Saudi nationals who possess a strong technical background in data center infrastructure, operations, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and security of our state-of-the-art data center facilities, supporting critical IT operations and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of data center hardware, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and power distribution units (PDUs). Ensure optimal performance and uptime of all critical systems.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor data center environments using advanced monitoring tools to detect potential issues. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems to minimize downtime and maintain service levels.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols to safeguard data center assets against physical and cyber threats. Ensure compliance with industry standards, such as ISO 27001, and local regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits to verify adherence to security policies.
• Capacity Planning and Optimization: Assess current and future data center capacity needs, including power, cooling, and space requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize resource utilization and support scalability initiatives.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure rapid restoration of services in the event of an outage or disruption. Coordinate with IT teams to implement redundancy and failover strategies.
• Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with external vendors, contractors, and internal teams to procure equipment, resolve technical issues, and align data center operations with business objectives. Maintain accurate documentation of all activities and configurations.
• Emergency Response: Serve as a key responder during emergency situations, such as power outages, cooling failures, or security breaches. Execute predefined protocols to mitigate risks and restore normal operations promptly.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data center operations, with a proven track record in managing enterprise-level infrastructure. Experience with cloud services, virtualization, and hybrid environments is a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of data center technologies, including cooling systems, power management, cabling standards, and rack management. Familiarity with ITIL practices and incident management processes is advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment. Fluency in English is required; Arabic language proficiency is a valuable asset.
• Certifications: Preferred certifications include Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Certified Data Center Expert (CDCE), or similar credentials from recognized institutions.
