Project Overview: The Ar Rjum Project

The Ar Rjum Project is a pioneering greenfield gold mining initiative featuring three open-pit mining operations, complete with associated waste dumps and ore stockpiles. The project also includes a state-of-the-art processing plant, tailings management facilities, and critical supporting infrastructure such as water and power supply systems, maintenance facilities, offices, and both temporary and permanent accommodation villages. Strategically located within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 kilometers northeast of Taif and en route to Riyadh, the project sits roughly 26 kilometers south of Al Mouwayh—a small town situated along the Jeddah-Riyadh highway. This remote yet strategically advantageous location presents unique challenges and opportunities for innovative engineering solutions.

Position Summary: Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineer

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Field Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of construction activities within the electrical and instrumentation discipline. This position is instrumental in bridging the gap between engineering design and field execution, ensuring that all installations and testing activities adhere to industry codes, standards, and project specifications. The E&I Field Engineer is responsible for developing comprehensive work plans, coordinating material procurement, conducting rigorous inspections, and maintaining stringent safety and quality control measures. This role requires a meticulous approach to documentation, progress reporting, and conflict resolution, particularly in areas related to design interpretation, vendor drawings, cable installations, terminations, and field verification of materials. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional planning and organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to produce clear, accurate, and concise technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Constructability and Design Coordination: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to address constructability challenges and resolve design-related issues, ensuring seamless integration of electrical and instrumentation systems into the construction sequence.
• Field Engineering Support: Provide expert guidance and technical assistance to superintendents and field personnel to ensure adherence to cost and schedule targets. Verify the quality and suitability of materials and equipment, confirming that all installations meet or exceed design requirements.
• Work Planning and Execution: Develop detailed work plans, coordinate material take-offs and requisitions, perform and document inspections, and track progress to identify and mitigate potential delays or discrepancies. Resolve conflicts arising from design or construction discrepancies to maintain project momentum.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure strict adherence to procedural guidelines, material control protocols, and inspection documentation standards. Maintain thorough records of all inspections, tests, and completed work to facilitate seamless turnover to the Startup/Commissioning phase.
• Material and Equipment Management: Direct or assist in the preparation of quantity listings for field-purchased materials and equipment, initiate requisitions for procurement, and oversee proper warehousing and storage to ensure environmental protection and material integrity.
• Technical Support and Reporting: Review and interpret specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data to ensure alignment with project requirements. Support the preparation of construction drawings, schedules, and temporary facility designs, and ensure the timely completion of as-built drawings and other essential job plans.
