Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert clinical leadership in rehabilitation services, driving excellence in patient care, staff development, and program innovation. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will conduct specialized assessments, design individualized intervention plans, and deliver advanced therapeutic services to clients across diverse clinical populations, including neurological, orthopedic, lymphedema, mental health, and pediatric cases. Key Responsibilities
This position encompasses a broad scope of responsibilities designed to enhance functional outcomes and elevate the quality of care. Your core duties will include:
- Clinical Leadership and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify functional deficits in activities of daily living (ADLs), cognitive and perceptual skills, and physical capabilities. Develop and implement individualized intervention plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
- Therapeutic Interventions and Mentorship: Deliver advanced occupational therapy services, including hand therapy, cognitive rehabilitation, and sensory integration. Supervise and mentor junior therapists and support student education, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, nurses, social workers, and community organizations—to optimize functional outcomes, streamline care transitions, and ensure seamless coordination of services. Contribute to discharge planning and post-discharge support to promote long-term success.
- Program Development and Quality Improvement: Lead the development of specialty programs and clinical pathways to address evolving patient needs. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, outcome measurement, and research to drive evidence-based practice and enhance service delivery.
- Clinical Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to clinical governance, policy development, and risk management to maintain the highest standards of care and patient safety.
- Patient and Family Education: Empower clients and their families with strategies for independence, home and workplace adaptations, and community reintegration. Provide coaching and education to facilitate long-term functional gains and improved quality of life.
- Documentation and Technology: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation using electronic health records (EHRs). Utilize data-driven insights to monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and inform clinical decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Education and Licensure: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Valid Saudi Commission License as a Senior Specialist and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical experience in occupational therapy, with a proven track record in leadership, mentorship, or specialized practice. Experience in neurological, orthopedic, mental health, or pediatric rehabilitation is highly desirable.
- Clinical Expertise: Advanced skills in assessment, goal setting, activity analysis, and evidence-based interventions. Proficiency in treating deficits related to ADLs, work rehabilitation, cognitive/perceptual rehabilitation, and environmental adaptation.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership abilities with a commitment to mentoring and developing junior staff. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to foster collaborative practice across disciplines.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with EHRs, documentation systems, and data analytics to support clinical decision-making and quality improvement initiatives.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic and English is essential to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
