Key Responsibilities

In this strategic role, your responsibilities will include:

• Operational Leadership: Oversee daily laboratory activities, optimize workflow efficiency, and assign staff to ensure seamless sample processing and testing operations.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Monitor and enforce adherence to approved procedures, quality control (QC) protocols, and regulatory standards, including those set by international accreditation bodies.
• Technical Excellence: Ensure accurate and timely execution of molecular techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, sequencing, and genomics-based assays while maintaining rigorous documentation and traceability.
• Equipment & Resource Management: Coordinate the maintenance, calibration, and qualification of laboratory equipment, as well as the procurement and inventory management of reagents and consumables to sustain operational readiness.
• Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement: Investigate and resolve technical deviations or QC issues, contributing to method validation and the implementation of new diagnostic tests to enhance laboratory capabilities.
• Staff Development & Training: Mentor laboratory personnel, assess competency, and design practical training programs to uphold technical proficiency and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Regulatory & Audit Support: Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with accreditation requirements and biosafety protocols to maintain the laboratory’s reputation for excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• A **Bachelor’s degree or higher** in Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related field, with a strong foundation in molecular diagnostics.
• **3–5 years of hands-on experience** in a molecular diagnostics laboratory, demonstrating expertise in advanced techniques such as PCR, sequencing, and genomics-based assays.
• Proven knowledge of **quality control (QC), laboratory documentation, biosafety protocols, and method validation**, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
• Experience with **laboratory management systems**, including equipment calibration, inventory control, and compliance tracking.
