Senior Officer, Technology Asset Management

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Officer, Technology Asset Management to oversee the comprehensive lifecycle of IT assets within our organization. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management, compliance, and optimization of hardware, software, and related IT resources, aligning all activities with our strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining operational excellence, mitigating risks, and driving cost-effective IT asset utilization across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Officer, Technology Asset Management, your core responsibilities will encompass the following areas:

• End-to-End IT Asset Lifecycle Management:
  • Lead the planning, procurement, deployment, maintenance, transfer, and disposal of IT assets in strict accordance with organizational policies and established procedures.
  • Ensure seamless integration and operational continuity of IT assets across all business units and departments.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions during asset transfers, upgrades, or decommissioning to minimize disruptions.
• Inventory Management & Accuracy:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, real-time inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and associated components.
  • Conduct regular asset reviews, reconciliations, and audits to validate data accuracy, identify discrepancies, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Leverage advanced asset repositories and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) systems to centralize asset data and improve visibility.
• Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:
  • Ensure all IT asset management activities strictly adhere to internal policies, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with software license agreements, minimizing legal and financial exposure.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate records, documentation, and evidence of asset management processes.
• Optimization & Cost Management:
  • Analyze asset utilization trends and performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency gains, and resource optimization.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to enhance asset performance, extend lifecycle value, and align IT investments with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Procurement teams to optimize procurement strategies and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Stakeholder Coordination & Communication:
  • Act as the primary liaison between IT, Procurement, Finance, and other departments to streamline asset acquisition, tracking, and reporting processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for asset-related inquiries, resolving issues promptly and ensuring clear communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Present actionable insights and recommendations to senior management through detailed reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
• Reporting & Analytics:
  • Develop and maintain dynamic asset management reports, dashboards, and performance indicators to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Track and analyze asset lifecycle metrics, including utilization rates, compliance status, and depreciation trends.
  • Support executive reporting by providing accurate, timely, and insightful asset-related data.
• Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC):
  • Contribute to IT governance initiatives by ensuring asset management processes align with organizational policies and standards.
  • Support risk mitigation efforts by identifying potential vulnerabilities in asset lifecycle management and proposing corrective actions.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation, naming conventions, and audit trails throughout the asset lifecycle to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Technology Lifecycle Support:
  • Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute technology refresh, upgrade, and decommissioning initiatives in alignment with business and IT strategy.
  • Ensure that asset retirement and disposal processes comply with environmental, security, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Competencies

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and professional attributes:

• Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
• Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT Asset Management, preferably within a large enterprise or financial institution.
  • Hands-on experience with IT inventory management tools, asset repositories, and CMDB systems.
  • Proven track record in IT governance, audit, risk management, or compliance-related functions is preferred.
• Technical & Functional Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of IT asset lifecycle management principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Strong expertise in software license management, including compliance tracking, entitlement management, and vendor negotiations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and dashboard development to support asset performance monitoring.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.

Location & Eligibility
