Driver Team Leader, Hub Operations

Position Overview

International Courier Links is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driver Team Leader, Hub Operations to join our dynamic team in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and manage a team of professional drivers, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of packages while maintaining the highest standards of safety, customer service, and operational excellence. This position is ideal for a results-driven leader with a strong background in logistics, fleet management, or transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of drivers to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly delivery targets. Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Operational Management: Oversee daily hub operations, including route planning, dispatching, and monitoring driver performance. Ensure adherence to delivery schedules and optimize resource allocation to enhance efficiency.
• Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to traffic laws, company safety policies, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular safety training sessions and inspections to mitigate risks and promote a secure working environment.
• Customer Service Excellence: Act as a point of contact for customer inquiries and complaints related to deliveries. Address issues promptly and proactively to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, fuel efficiency, and driver productivity. Generate detailed reports and present insights to senior management to support data-driven decision-making.
• Training and Development: Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs for drivers to enhance their skills, knowledge, and compliance with industry standards.
• Inventory and Asset Management: Oversee the maintenance of delivery vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal condition. Manage fuel consumption, vehicle inspections, and repair schedules to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, customer service, and warehouse operations, to streamline processes and resolve operational challenges.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within logistics, transportation, or fleet management. Prior experience in a courier or delivery service environment is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in route planning software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with fleet management software is a plus.
• Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to inspire and motivate a team while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Safety Awareness: Deep understanding of road safety regulations, defensive driving techniques, and occupational health and safety standards.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Additional language skills are advantageous.
