R&D or Production Manager - dry-mix mortar and construction chemicals manufacturing

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced R&D or Production Manager to lead our operations in the manufacturing of dry-mix mortar and construction chemicals. This pivotal role will be based in Jeddah and will require a strategic leader capable of driving innovation, optimizing production processes, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience in the construction chemicals industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Research & Development Leadership: Spearhead the development of new and improved dry-mix mortar and construction chemical products, ensuring they meet market demands and regulatory standards. Oversee formulation testing, prototype development, and performance validation to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
• Production Management: Manage end-to-end production operations, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to maximize output while maintaining cost efficiency. Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and reduce waste.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality control measures to ensure all products adhere to international standards and customer specifications. Collaborate with regulatory bodies to maintain compliance with local and global safety and environmental regulations.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers, technicians, and production staff. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the organization.
• Supply Chain & Vendor Coordination: Work closely with procurement, logistics, and external partners to secure high-quality raw materials and ensure uninterrupted production cycles. Optimize inventory levels to balance cost and availability.
• Process Optimization & Innovation: Identify opportunities for technological advancements and process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and lower operational costs. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
• Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Champion workplace safety protocols and environmental sustainability initiatives. Ensure all operations align with Delta International PK’s commitment to responsible manufacturing.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certifications will be a plus.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in R&D or production management within the dry-mix mortar, construction chemicals, or a closely related industry.
• Proven track record in product development, process optimization, and team leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of formulation techniques, manufacturing technologies, and quality control systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Familiarity with ISO, ASTM, or other relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in ERP or manufacturing execution systems is desirable.
