Senior Mechanical Engineer – Al Khomra, Jeddah

As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance, reliability, and efficiency of a wide range of mechanical systems, including transmission systems, drives, gears, bearings, couplings, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, motor drives, conveyors, presses, and fabrication/machining operations such as drilling, grinding, and welding. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining uninterrupted production operations while adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Supervision and Troubleshooting: Lead the supervision and troubleshooting of plant mechanical equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Utilize your analytical skills to diagnose issues promptly and implement effective solutions.
• Design and Optimization: Contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems, ensuring they are both efficient and cost-effective without compromising on quality. Continuously seek innovative ways to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
• Performance Testing and Analysis: Conduct rigorous testing of new products and systems to evaluate their performance, safety, and longevity. Provide data-driven recommendations to improve reliability and durability.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all plant mechanical equipment. This will include regular inspections, predictive maintenance strategies, and corrective actions to preempt potential failures and ensure continuous operational flow.
• Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with the Electrical Troubleshooting Section Head, Utilities Department, and Technical Department Manager to maintain the reliability and condition of all plant machinery. Foster a culture of teamwork and cross-functional collaboration to achieve shared goals.
• Shift and On-Call Responsibilities: Be prepared to work on a priority-based schedule, including shift work and occasional overtime, to address urgent mechanical issues and ensure round-the-clock operational readiness.
• Technical Documentation and Reporting: Utilize computer-aided tools to monitor mechanical systems and make real-time adjustments. Maintain detailed records of system performance, maintenance activities, and operational metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in specialized areas (e.g., ISO systems) are a significant advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong preference for candidates with Saudi nationality. Experience in industrial settings, particularly in manufacturing or production environments, is highly valued.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, including transmission systems, drives, gears, bearings, couplings, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, motor drives, conveyors, presses, and basic fabrication/machining operations (e.g., drilling, grinding, welding).
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in both written and spoken English to facilitate effective communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with ceramic tile manufacturing procedures and industry standards is considered a plus.
• Safety and Compliance: Strong understanding of industrial safety protocols, security measures, and compliance with international standards such as ISO systems.

• Communication: Excellent oral communication skills are essential for collaborating with management, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Clear and concise verbal expression is key to conveying technical information effectively.
• Sensory Abilities: Normal hearing and vision are required to receive instructions, monitor equipment, and perform inspections accurately.
• Physical Demands: The role involves minimal heavy lifting, with occasional exertion of up to 10 lbs. Good manual dexterity is necessary for operating machinery and performing routine tasks.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong reasoning abilities to address a diverse range of mechanical challenges. Proficiency in statistical analysis, variance analysis, mechanical techniques, and basic algebraic calculations is advantageous.
