Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Outpatient Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Key Responsibilities

The Outpatient Pharmacist will be responsible for a wide range of duties designed to optimize medication management and patient outcomes. These responsibilities include:

• Order Verification and Dispensing: Review, interpret, and verify physician orders for accuracy, including dosage, duration, and potential drug-to-drug interactions. Communicate with prescribing physicians to resolve any ambiguities or concerns before dispensing medications.
• Medication Preparation and Safety: Oversee the preparation of verified medications, perform double-checking procedures, and ensure proper labeling to maintain the highest standards of safety and quality. Adhere to all medication safety protocols and infection prevention and control standards when handling medications, including IV and TPN formulations.
• Patient Counseling and Education: Provide comprehensive counseling to patients and caregivers on the safe and effective use of medications, including storage instructions, potential interactions, and adherence strategies. Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and preventive measures as applicable.
• Inventory and Compliance Management: Maintain strict control over drug inventory, ensuring secure storage and proper handling of narcotics and controlled substances. Identify and appropriately manage nearly expired medications in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Complete accurate charging of patients for dispensed medications.
• Technological Proficiency and Documentation: Perform computer entry of prescriptions and orders into the CPOE system, ensuring seamless integration with the healthcare information system. Maintain meticulous records and report any medication errors or adverse drug reactions (ADRs) through the designated reporting system.
• Professional Development and Training: Participate in continuing education programs to stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice, including high-risk medications and medication error prevention. Contribute to the training and orientation of new pharmacists, students, and trainees. Demonstrate knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) medications and formulary guidelines.
• Regulatory and Ethical Compliance: Ensure full compliance with regional health regulations, organizational policies, and ethical standards. Adhere to cybersecurity protocols and maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information. Uphold Fakeeh Care’s code of conduct and participate in mandatory education programs.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience in a hospital or outpatient pharmacy setting, with a demonstrated ability to apply clinical knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to adapt to electronic health record (EHR) systems and pharmacy software applications.
• Language Proficiency: Strong oral and written communication skills in English to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
• Licensure and Certifications: Valid license to practice pharmacy as per the regional health regulator. Commitment to ongoing professional development and licensure renewal.
