SSHE Officer

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SSHE (Safety, Security, Health, and Environment) Officer to join our team at Nestlé in Dammam. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations, implementing robust health and environmental standards, and fostering a culture of safety and sustainability across our operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in occupational health and safety, environmental management, and risk assessment, with a proven ability to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Management: Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures to minimize workplace hazards and prevent accidents. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO, and other relevant safety standards.
• Health and Well-being: Promote a healthy work environment by overseeing health and hygiene programs, ergonomic assessments, and wellness initiatives. Collaborate with HR and medical teams to address employee health concerns and ensure adherence to occupational health regulations.
• Environmental Compliance: Lead efforts to reduce the company’s environmental footprint by implementing sustainable practices, managing waste disposal, and ensuring compliance with environmental laws and Nestlé’s sustainability commitments. Monitor energy consumption, water usage, and emissions to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Security Protocols: Oversee security measures to protect personnel, assets, and confidential information. Develop and enforce access control policies, emergency response plans, and crisis management strategies to mitigate security risks.
• Training and Awareness: Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to educate employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and environmental best practices. Foster a proactive safety culture through ongoing communication and engagement initiatives.
• Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations into workplace incidents, near-misses, and environmental violations. Prepare detailed reports, recommend corrective actions, and track the implementation of solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for government agencies, industry associations, and internal stakeholders on matters related to safety, health, environment, and security. Ensure timely reporting and documentation to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you should hold a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in SSHE or a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment is essential. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or equivalent are highly desirable. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex regulations are critical. Proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal, is required, along with excellent communication and leadership abilities to influence stakeholders at all levels.
