Engineer - Field Services

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer - Field Services to join our dynamic team at Microland, based in Jeddah. As a Field Services Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime for our clients. Your expertise will play a critical role in maintaining our reputation for reliability and excellence in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• System Installation and Configuration: Perform on-site installation, configuration, and commissioning of hardware and software systems, including servers, networking equipment, and enterprise solutions. Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and company protocols.
• Technical Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner. Provide first-level support to clients, documenting all incidents and resolutions in the company’s ticketing system for future reference and analysis.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance tuning to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues. This includes hardware upgrades, patch management, and system health checks to ensure continuous operation.
• Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering professional, courteous, and efficient service. Act as a trusted technical advisor, offering guidance on system optimization and best practices to enhance client satisfaction.
• Collaboration and Escalation: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, engineering, and support, to ensure seamless service delivery. Escalate complex issues to the appropriate technical teams when necessary, providing detailed incident reports and root cause analysis.
• Compliance and Documentation: Adhere to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards during field operations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all service activities, including work orders, service reports, and client feedback.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, or vendor-specific certifications) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in field services, technical support, or a related role. Prior experience with enterprise-level IT infrastructure, networking, and hardware maintenance is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and hardware components (servers, storage devices, networking equipment). Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing environments. Customer service orientation with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
• Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively within the region to perform on-site services as needed. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
