Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Technician at PepsiCo, your core responsibilities will include:

• Quality Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to verify compliance with established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Utilize advanced inspection tools and techniques to identify deviations and ensure consistency in product quality.
• Process Monitoring: Monitor and analyze production processes to detect potential quality issues before they escalate. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to implement corrective and preventive actions that enhance operational efficiency and product integrity.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance documentation. Prepare comprehensive reports for management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement in quality performance.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to international quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, as well as local and global regulatory standards, including HACCP, GMP, and FDA guidelines. Stay updated on evolving regulations and industry best practices to proactively address compliance challenges.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma projects, to drive operational excellence and reduce waste. Identify root causes of quality issues and recommend data-driven solutions to enhance product consistency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, quality assurance managers, and external auditors to foster a culture of quality across the organization. Provide training and guidance to employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure alignment with PepsiCo’s quality objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, a diploma in a relevant discipline with proven experience in quality assurance or a manufacturing environment may be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industry. Experience with quality management systems and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, statistical process control (SPC), and inspection tools. Familiarity with laboratory equipment, calibration processes, and data analysis software is essential.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to identify quality issues and implement effective solutions. Proficiency in interpreting technical specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements is critical.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey quality-related information to diverse stakeholders, including management, production teams, and external auditors. Fluency in English is required; additional language proficiency is a plus.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) from recognized bodies like ASQ are advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
