Key Responsibilities

The Front End Mechanic will play a pivotal role in maintaining the operational efficiency of our production lines. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Machinery Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of front-end machinery to ensure peak performance and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques, and execute timely repairs to restore equipment functionality.
• Equipment Upgrades: Collaborate with engineering teams to implement upgrades and modifications that enhance machinery efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and workplace safety regulations to ensure a secure working environment for all employees.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance metrics. Report any recurring issues or potential hazards to management for proactive resolution.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance, reduce operational costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics and production staff on proper equipment operation, maintenance best practices, and safety procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in mechanical systems is preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic, with a focus on front-end machinery, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including gearboxes, conveyors, motors, and automated control systems. Familiarity with electrical schematics, hydraulic circuits, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems is a significant advantage.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions under pressure.
• Safety Awareness: A proactive approach to safety, with a deep understanding of OSHA standards, machine guarding, and hazard prevention protocols.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform repetitive motions, and work in confined spaces or elevated platforms as needed. Must be able to stand for extended periods and operate hand and power tools safely.
