Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation and Budget Management: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for architectural projects, including materials, labor, and overheads. Develop and manage project budgets to ensure financial viability and adherence to allocated resources.
• Contract Administration: Review, draft, and manage contracts to safeguard the company’s interests. Ensure all contractual obligations are met and resolve any disputes or variations in a timely and professional manner.
• Procurement and Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and vendors to secure the best pricing and terms for materials and services. Monitor procurement processes to ensure timely delivery and compliance with project specifications.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive quantity surveying documentation, including bills of quantities, cost plans, and progress reports. Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
• Project Monitoring and Reporting: Track project expenditures against budgets and provide regular financial reports to senior management. Identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution. Facilitate effective communication and resolve any discrepancies between design specifications and cost implications.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects adhere to local and international construction standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Professional certification such as MRICS or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the construction or architectural materials industry. Experience with marble, granite, or stone projects is a significant advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Autodesk Quantity Takeoff) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools is a plus.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations. Strong problem-solving skills to address budgetary and contractual challenges.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams. Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing contracts, cost estimates, and project documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
