Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Engineering Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of engineering functions, including but not limited to:

• Maintenance and Inspection: Ensuring the accurate and efficient operation of all electrical equipment, control panels, motors, pumps, and kitchen and laundry appliances. This includes conducting regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Preventive Maintenance Scheduling: Developing and adhering to a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule to proactively address potential issues before they escalate, thereby maintaining optimal performance and safety standards.
• Cleanliness and Organization: Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all electrical panels, motors, appliances, and workspaces to uphold hygiene standards and ensure a safe working environment.
• Team Leadership and Work Distribution: Assigning tasks to subordinate staff based on their capabilities and expertise to maximize productivity and achieve superior results. Ensuring that all work is performed to the highest specified standards.
• Tool and Equipment Management: Overseeing the safekeeping and proper maintenance of all related tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and readily available for use.
• Record Keeping and Compliance: Strictly following the preventive maintenance chart and maintaining accurate records for future reference, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborating with counterparts from other departments to ensure their satisfaction with the quality and progress of engineering projects. Building and nurturing healthy inter-departmental relationships to foster a cohesive and efficient working environment.
• Employee Development: Creating opportunities for engineering employees to enhance their skills and knowledge through multitasking and professional development initiatives, thereby contributing to their growth and the overall success of the team.

Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education and Experience: A degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is required, along with prior experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. Proficiency in written and spoken English, as well as the ability to diagnose and rectify system faults, are essential. Computer literacy is considered an advantage.
