Job Overview

Sealy Mattress Middle East, a leading provider of premium mattresses and sleep solutions, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chief Accountant to join our dynamic team in Jeddah. This pivotal role will oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards while driving strategic financial planning and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to contribute to the company’s growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership: Lead the accounting department, providing strategic direction and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and local regulations.
• Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and implement robust financial strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, to support executive decision-making.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure full compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, minimizing financial risks and optimizing tax efficiency.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Internal Controls: Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or financial discrepancies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and procurement, to align financial objectives with business goals and drive operational excellence.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, leverage technology, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA or MAcc) or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CMA) is highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role within a corporate environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
• Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, and driving performance.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and international accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
