Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a cohesive design strategy that aligns with Parsons’ business objectives and client expectations, ensuring consistency and innovation across all projects.
• Team Mentorship & Development: Lead, inspire, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance on design principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.
• Project Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end design process, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring projects meet quality standards, deadlines, and budgetary constraints. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and clients, to deliver cohesive and impactful design solutions.
• Client Engagement & Relationship Management: Act as the primary design liaison with clients, understanding their vision, and translating it into actionable design strategies. Present design concepts, provide expert recommendations, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Innovation & Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of global design trends, emerging technologies, and industry advancements to integrate cutting-edge solutions into Parsons’ projects. Drive thought leadership and contribute to the company’s reputation as a pioneer in design innovation.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Establish and enforce design standards, guidelines, and best practices to maintain Parsons’ reputation for excellence. Ensure all deliverables adhere to regulatory requirements, sustainability principles, and ethical design practices.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a minimum of 10 years of progressive design experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity. A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in design strategy, team leadership, and project execution is essential. Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma) and a deep understanding of design principles, typography, and visual communication are required. Additionally, candidates should possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex design concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
