IT Infrastructure Engineer

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Design and Deployment: Develop, configure, and deploy robust IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage systems, networking components, and virtualization platforms, to support business operations and growth.
• System Monitoring and Maintenance: Proactively monitor IT infrastructure performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operations. Utilize monitoring tools and methodologies to maintain system health and reliability.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organization’s IT assets. Conduct regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT support, cybersecurity, and software development, to troubleshoot complex issues, provide technical guidance, and deliver integrated solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
• Capacity Planning and Optimization: Analyze current and future IT infrastructure needs, forecast resource requirements, and optimize system performance to support scalability and cost-effectiveness. Recommend upgrades or enhancements as necessary to align with business demands.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions to stakeholders and management.
• Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Liaise with external vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to evaluate, procure, and integrate new technologies. Ensure seamless integration and alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA Security+, VMware VCP) are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with server administration, networking (LAN/WAN), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), cloud services (AWS, Azure), and storage solutions. Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) and automation tools is a plus.
• Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently. Strong analytical mindset with a focus on root-cause analysis and preventive measures.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
• Project Management: Experience in managing IT infrastructure projects from planning to execution, including budgeting, timelines, and resource allocation. Familiarity with Agile or ITIL frameworks is advantageous.
• Adaptability and Innovation: A proactive attitude toward adopting emerging technologies and industry trends. Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and technological advancements.
