Your Opportunity

As a BI Developer at CoorB, you will play a pivotal role in supporting, enhancing, migrating, and constructing BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and analytical datasets within both current and target architectures. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping the organization’s data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Your Responsibilities

• Platform Support and Development: Provide ongoing support for existing BI platforms, including OBIEE, Cognos, Power BI, cubes, and operational dashboards. Develop new dashboards and reports in the target BI platform to meet evolving business needs.
• Legacy System Modernization: Rebuild or migrate legacy reports into a future-state BI environment, ensuring seamless transitions with minimal disruption to operations.
• Data Modeling and Semantic Design: Construct semantic models, calculated measures, KPIs, and reusable datasets to enhance data accessibility and analytical depth.
• Validation and Quality Assurance: Rigorously validate migrated reports against existing versions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data outputs.
• Performance Optimization: Enhance dashboard performance, refine refresh schedules, and optimize query efficiency to deliver timely and actionable insights.
• Security and Access Management: Implement robust row-level security, access controls, and domain-based reporting permissions to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with ETL Developers, Data Modelers, Data Architects, Technical Data Leads, Business Analysts, Platform Administrators, and business stakeholders to align BI solutions with organizational goals.
• Architecture Transition Support: Facilitate the transition of current-state logic by thoroughly understanding existing systems before migrating, simplifying, or retiring outdated components.
• Report Decommissioning: Assist in the decommissioning of legacy reports once migrated versions have been validated and approved, ensuring a streamlined and efficient BI ecosystem.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Power BI and/or enterprise BI tools such as OBIEE, Cognos, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Data Querying Expertise: Advanced SQL skills to extract, transform, and analyze data efficiently.
• Semantic Modeling and Analytics: Proven experience in building semantic models, utilizing DAX, MDX, measures, KPIs, and calculated fields to derive meaningful insights.
• Data Warehousing Knowledge: Familiarity with star schemas, facts, dimensions, aggregates, and reporting marts to structure and optimize data for reporting.
• Migration and Performance Tuning: Experience in report migration, reconciliation, and performance tuning to ensure seamless transitions and high-efficiency operations.
• Security Implementation: Knowledge of BI security frameworks and access control mechanisms to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
