Scope of Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer I, you will play a pivotal role in the deployment of advanced mining systems, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will span the full project lifecycle, from initial design and implementation to testing, troubleshooting, and final handover. Key areas of focus include:

• Technical Leadership: Act as a primary technical resource for the team, providing guidance on complex mining solutions and resolving escalated technical issues that fall outside the scope of standard project engineering responsibilities.
• Project Coordination: Partner with Project Managers to streamline the deployment of mining systems, ensuring timely execution and adherence to budgetary constraints while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
• System Customization and Support: Deliver bespoke customizations to meet customer-specific requirements, troubleshoot system issues, and implement configurations using scripting tools to enhance functionality.
• Onsite and Remote Engagement: Participate in onsite system installations, conduct complex problem-solving across integrated systems, and provide remote support to ensure minimal disruption to customer operations.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders regarding project risks, issues, and resolutions, escalating critical matters to relevant teams or senior leadership as needed.
• Knowledge Management: Stay abreast of current and emerging product offerings, industry trends, and evolving technologies through professional networks and continuous learning to drive innovation and best practices.
• Pre-Sales Collaboration: Support the sales team in a technical advisory capacity, contributing to presentations, demonstrations, and proposals to enhance customer engagement and trust.
• Compliance and Safety: Uphold Hexagon Mining’s Workplace Health and Safety policies, participate in audits, and adhere to all regulatory and procedural standards to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Engineer I will be responsible for the following core duties:

• Actively participating in the hands-on deployment of complex mining solutions, including software maintenance, system customization, and troubleshooting.
• Owning and implementing customer-specific system configurations to meet operational and performance requirements.
• Developing and executing scripts to automate processes, enhance system functionality, and resolve technical challenges.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
• Providing regular updates on project status, including progress reports, risk assessments, and resolution strategies to stakeholders and leadership.
• Leveraging customer relationships to proactively identify potential issues or opportunities, advising the Mining Services Team on strategic improvements or interventions.
• Representing Hexagon Mining with professionalism, integrity, and courtesy in all interactions, both internally and externally.
• Ensuring compliance with Hexagon’s documentation, reporting standards, and safety protocols, while actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
