Manufacturing Engineer (Generator Rotors)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer (Generator Rotors) to join our dynamic team at Siemens Energy. Key Responsibilities

• Process Development and Optimization: Design, develop, and refine manufacturing processes for generator rotor repairs, overhauls, and full rewind activities. Create detailed work instructions, routing sheets, technical documentation, and tooling requirements to streamline operations and ensure consistency in quality.
• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance on rotor dismantling, inspection, fault diagnosis, and root cause analysis. Oversee insulation repairs, full rewinds, winding installations, connections, testing procedures, and rotor balancing to maintain peak performance and reliability.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all activities comply with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards, ISO regulations, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines. Support inspection processes, testing methodologies, and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives to uphold the highest quality benchmarks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with workshop and production teams to address technical challenges, monitor job progress, and optimize workflow efficiency. Foster a collaborative environment that prioritizes problem-solving, continuous improvement, and adherence to project timelines.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to standardize best practices, enhance productivity, and reduce operational costs. Champion a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility while driving innovation in rotor manufacturing processes.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in generator rotor repair, overhaul, and rewind operations within an industrial setting.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on expertise with large industrial generators, including rotor winding, insulation systems (Class F/H, mica systems, VPI), and electrical testing methods such as insulation resistance (IR), polarization index (PI), surge, and hipot testing.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement effective solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with OEM standards from leading manufacturers such as GE, Siemens, ABB, Brush, Alstom, and MHI. Strong commitment to quality, safety, cost efficiency, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Communication and Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and diverse cultural backgrounds.
