Manufacturing Manager

Position Overview

Eaton is seeking a dynamic and visionary Manufacturing Manager to lead our site’s manufacturing engineering, maintenance, operational excellence, and digital manufacturing functions. This pivotal role is instrumental in driving the development, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes while supporting new product introductions and strategic transfer projects. The ideal candidate will champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, automation, and Industry 4.0 initiatives, ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and peak plant performance. By collaborating cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, and EHS teams, you will deliver sustainable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and customer satisfaction, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Engineering

As the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and executing the site’s manufacturing engineering strategy and standards to enhance operational efficiency.
• Leading process design, validation, qualification, and optimization to ensure robust and scalable manufacturing operations.
• Improving process capability through the application of statistical and quality tools, including FMEA implementation and risk reduction activities.
• Maintaining routings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and labor standards to uphold consistency and compliance.
• Developing strategies for tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment to support production goals.
• Driving process and equipment standardization initiatives to streamline operations and reduce variability.
• Supporting capacity planning, line balancing, and layout optimization to maximize throughput and efficiency.
• Leading root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities to resolve operational challenges.

New Product Introduction (NPI) and Strategic Transfers

Your role will include:

• Leading manufacturing readiness for NPI, New Product Development (NPD), and Strategic Transfer Projects (STP) to ensure seamless execution.
• Establishing production processes, tooling, and controls prior to product launch to mitigate risks.
• Coordinating process validation and production readiness reviews to guarantee compliance and performance.
• Supporting Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturability.

Continuous Improvement

You will be tasked with:

• Deploying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs to drive operational excellence.
• Leading Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and improvement projects to eliminate waste and enhance productivity.
• Driving improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Coaching teams on operational excellence methodologies to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
• Sustaining and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to ensure long-term success.

Digital Manufacturing & Automation

In this capacity, you will:

• Lead Industry 4.0, automation, and Operational Technology (OT) initiatives to modernize manufacturing processes.
• Implement automation solutions to enhance manufacturing performance and reduce manual intervention.
• Support machine connectivity, production analytics, and digitalization efforts to enable data-driven decision-making.
• Promote the adoption of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications.
• Ensure OT systems comply with cybersecurity requirements to safeguard critical infrastructure.

Capital Projects & Asset Optimization

Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Leading manufacturing capital investment projects to support growth and innovation.
• Developing comprehensive business cases and ROI analyses to justify investments.
• Supporting equipment selection, installation, and commissioning to ensure seamless integration.
• Improving equipment reliability, maintainability, and asset performance to minimize downtime.

Cross-Functional Leadership

You will collaborate closely with:

• Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, and EHS teams to align on strategic objectives.
• Leading technical decision-making and manufacturing excellence initiatives to drive organizational success.
• Promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence across all functions.

Maintenance & Asset Management

In this role, you will oversee:

• The maintenance function and asset management strategy to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to enhance uptime and reduce downtime.
• Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
• Equipment commissioning and asset performance improvements to support long-term operational goals.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering; an MS or MBA is a plus.
• A minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, production, or fabrication environments, with a strong focus on Continuous Improvement (Lean / Six Sigma).
• Proven track record in leading improvement initiatives and driving measurable operational results.
• Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, automation, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills to influence and drive change.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
