Encryption Operations & Support Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Encryption Operations & Support Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dammam. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the secure implementation, maintenance, and optimization of encryption systems across our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in cryptography, network security, and enterprise encryption solutions, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide expert-level support to stakeholders. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding sensitive data, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and supporting our mission to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance encryption services.

Key Responsibilities

• Encryption System Management: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of encryption solutions, including hardware security modules (HSMs), key management systems, and cryptographic protocols. Ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure while adhering to best practices for security and performance.
• Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide first-line and escalated technical support for encryption-related issues, including key recovery, certificate management, and cryptographic algorithm implementation. Diagnose and resolve complex problems to minimize downtime and maintain operational integrity.
• Compliance & Security Assurance: Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and ISO 27001. Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and security reviews to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, cybersecurity, and application development, to design and implement encryption strategies that align with business objectives. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to educate and guide internal stakeholders on encryption best practices and emerging threats.
• Performance Optimization & Innovation: Monitor encryption system performance, analyze usage patterns, and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, scalability, and security. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in cryptography to drive continuous improvement.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of encryption processes, configurations, and incident reports. Generate regular performance metrics, security reports, and compliance documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or Certified Encryption Specialist (CES) are highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in encryption technologies, including PKI, SSL/TLS, AES, RSA, and elliptic curve cryptography. Hands-on experience with HSMs, key management systems (e.g., Thales, Gemalto), and encryption software (e.g., Vormetric, IBM Guardium).
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex encryption issues and implement effective solutions. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and familiarity with network protocols (e.g., IPsec, VPN) are advantageous.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Security Awareness: Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and risk management frameworks. Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data protection and confidentiality.
