Manufacturing Engineer (Generator Rotors)

Position Overview

Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer (Generator Rotors) to join our dynamic team in Dammam. In this critical role, you will be responsible for optimizing and overseeing the manufacturing processes associated with generator rotor production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to the reliability and performance of Siemens Energy’s generator solutions, which are pivotal in powering industries worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Optimization: Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for generator rotor components to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and maintain high-quality standards. Utilize lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to production teams, troubleshooting complex manufacturing challenges and ensuring adherence to engineering specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality assurance, and supply chain, to resolve issues and implement best practices.
• Quality Assurance: Establish and monitor quality control measures to ensure that all generator rotor components meet or exceed industry and company standards. Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Equipment and Tooling: Oversee the selection, installation, and maintenance of machinery and tooling required for rotor manufacturing. Work closely with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with local, national, and international safety regulations, as well as Siemens Energy’s internal policies. Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the team.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen events, to drive innovation and operational efficiency. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement enhancements to manufacturing processes.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of manufacturing processes, quality metrics, and performance data. Prepare detailed reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or project management are advantageous.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on rotor or similar high-precision components. Experience in the energy sector or with Siemens Energy’s technologies is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, heat treatment, and assembly. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing execution systems (MES) is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaborative problem-solving. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effectively conveying technical information to diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated expertise in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulatory compliance. A commitment to safety and environmental stewardship is non-negotiable.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel) to monitor process performance and identify trends. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
