Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this critical role, you will provide expert site supervision and technical oversight for structural construction projects, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. As a senior technical authority on-site, you will make pivotal decisions, guide project teams through complex structural challenges, and uphold the integrity of our projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Supervision and Inspection: Oversee all structural construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections and prepare detailed technical reports documenting progress, issues, and corrective actions.
• Technical Review and Guidance: Analyze structural designs, drawings, and construction methodologies. Provide expert technical guidance to contractors and project teams to resolve complex structural challenges.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Saudi Arabian building codes, safety regulations, and international construction standards. Identify structural deficiencies or deviations from plans and implement corrective measures promptly.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues, mitigate risks, and maintain project schedules. Serve as a liaison between technical teams and project management to align objectives.
• Quality Assurance and Control: Manage quality control testing and material verification processes. Approve or reject work based on technical specifications to uphold project standards.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily logs, inspection records, and technical correspondence. Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for review.
• Safety Management: Conduct safety audits and promote a culture of safety compliance across all construction activities. Ensure all personnel adhere to established safety protocols and regulations.
• Technical Recommendations: Provide strategic recommendations for design modifications or value engineering opportunities to optimize project outcomes while maintaining structural integrity.
• Project Monitoring: Monitor project progress against timelines and budgets from a structural engineering perspective. Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and support the professional development of the site team. Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment to enhance team performance.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education and Experience: Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in civil/structural engineering, with at least 5 years dedicated to site supervision on major construction projects.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of structural analysis and design principles, with a strong understanding of building codes, standards, and construction regulations—particularly those applicable in Saudi Arabia.
• Quality and Safety Expertise: Comprehensive expertise in quality assurance and quality control methodologies, along with a deep understanding of construction safety protocols and regulations.
• Software Skills: Proficiency with structural analysis software and AutoCAD. Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and project management tools is highly desirable.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Strong technical documentation and report writing skills, coupled with excellent project coordination and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences will be considered advantageous:

• Experience with reinforced concrete and steel structures, as well as familiarity with advanced construction methodologies.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software to streamline workflows and enhance project delivery.
• Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and green building certifications.
• Experience working in the Middle East or on projects governed by Saudi Arabian standards and regulations.
