Senior Equity Research Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Equity Research Analyst to join our dynamic Asset Management team. In this pivotal role, you will conduct comprehensive fundamental buy-side equity research on Saudi-listed companies, as well as select regional markets, to support portfolio managers in making informed investment decisions. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the firm’s investment strategies and delivering actionable insights to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Equity Research Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:

• Fundamental Analysis: Perform in-depth fundamental analysis of companies listed on the Saudi Exchange and selected regional markets to assess their investment potential and risk profile.
• Financial Modeling: Develop, maintain, and update detailed financial models for the coverage universe, ensuring accuracy and relevance for investment decision-making.
• Market and Industry Tracking: Monitor company earnings, industry trends, and macroeconomic developments that may impact assigned coverage areas, providing timely updates to portfolio managers.
• Research Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive research reports, investment notes, and recommendations to portfolio managers, ensuring clarity and strategic insight.
• IPO and Rights Issue Analysis: Evaluate initial public offerings (IPOs) and rights issues by attending roadshows, management meetings, and summarizing critical business and operational issues, financial statements, and key profitability and efficiency ratios.
• Collaborative Support: Assist with ad-hoc tasks within the Asset Management Department, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team.

Skills and Competencies

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills and competencies:

• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, with advanced Excel skills being highly desirable.
• Market Tools: Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal is preferred, enabling seamless access to real-time market data and financial analytics.
• Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Arabic is essential to effectively communicate with stakeholders and analyze regional market dynamics.
• Communication and Reporting: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively to diverse audiences.

Education and Experience

Candidates for this role should meet the following educational and experiential requirements:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is required.
• Professional Development: Progress toward completing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter is highly preferred and demonstrates a commitment to professional growth.
• Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in equity research, either on the buy-side or sell-side, is required to ensure a deep understanding of market dynamics and investment strategies.

Reporting Structure

The Senior Equity Research Analyst will report directly to the Head of Research or the Head of Asset Management, collaborating closely with senior leadership to align research efforts with the firm’s investment objectives and strategic goals.
