Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As a Control Field Service Engineer, you will be entrusted with the following core responsibilities to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction:

  • Site Management and Execution: Oversee and manage on-site activities, including meticulous planning, resource allocation, and tool management to align with contractual obligations and project timelines.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert technical guidance during loop checks and commissioning phases, conducting comprehensive functional tests to validate system performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Startup and Performance Validation: Lead unit start-up procedures and performance tests to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of machinery. Evaluate operational parameters and proactively troubleshoot control system anomalies to minimize downtime and enhance reliability.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers to prepare detailed field service job plans and interventions, ensuring alignment with project objectives and customer expectations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary technical liaison between customers and the Baker Hughes Engineering team, addressing technical inquiries, resolving issues, and facilitating seamless communication across all functional departments.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Utilize company e-tools to retrieve technical documentation, manage packing lists, bill of materials, and drawings. Prepare accurate and professional reports to document field activities, findings, and resolutions.
  • Safety and Environmental Stewardship: Uphold the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance, ensuring all field activities adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements to safeguard personnel, assets, and the environment.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in field service activities within the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record in control systems and rotating equipment.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of MKVI and MKVIe control systems, as well as a strong understanding of rotating equipment control philosophies, including gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and their associated auxiliaries.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively engage with international stakeholders and document technical information.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving: Demonstrated aptitude for critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and troubleshooting complex technical challenges in high-pressure environments.
