As a Senior Control and Protection Engineer specializing in generators, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable and safe operation of power generation systems at customer sites. Your responsibilities will span the installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and modification of generator control systems and rotating machinery, all while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and service excellence. You will serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal teams, providing expert guidance, coordinating support efforts, and driving the successful execution of projects across a diverse portfolio of power generation solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• System Installation and Maintenance: Install, service, modify, and troubleshoot generator control and protection systems in strict adherence to OEM standards and quality benchmarks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Technical Supervision: Lead and supervise technical teams during critical phases of installation, maintenance, and system modifications, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Diagnostic Expertise: Interpret P&IDs and control schematics with precision, conduct thorough root cause analyses, and resolve complex technical issues to minimize downtime and enhance system efficiency.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate project progress effectively through detailed technical reports, recommend strategic spare parts, and collaborate closely with customers and internal stakeholders to address challenges and uncover service opportunities.
• Safety and Compliance: Uphold the highest Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, ensuring zero-harm policies are strictly followed. Embrace flexibility to travel extensively, work in demanding environments, and support operations during day/night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Your Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a robust blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills, supported by the following qualifications:

• Professional Background: 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in generator overhaul, installation, and the supervision of related equipment, complemented by a High School/GED diploma or an Engineering degree.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office and portal-based systems for time reporting, expense management, and service documentation, ensuring seamless project execution and compliance.
• Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to navigate challenging customer discussions with diplomacy and protect the company’s interests effectively.
• Commercial Acumen: A keen understanding of contract scope, the ability to identify out-of-scope work, and the drive to support opportunities for additional customer funding, contributing to the financial success of projects.
• Mobility and Adaptability: Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 80% domestically and internationally), supported by a valid driver’s license. Siemens/Dresser Rand product training and fluency in English are highly advantageous.
