Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Production Engineer at Eaton, you will play a pivotal role in leading production operations while fostering collaboration across key departments, including Safety, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production team leaders. Your primary objective will be to enhance safety, quality, delivery efficiency, and cost-effectiveness through strategic process design, Lean manufacturing methodologies, SAP master data integrity, and structured problem-solving frameworks. This position requires a proactive approach to ensuring equipment safety, environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance, and embedding safe work practices into manufacturing processes. You will work closely with the HSE department to align with MESH (Eaton Environmental, Health and Safety) standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Lean Production Leadership: Assemble GEIS components and modules into complete bays using a lean and flow production line, optimizing performance to achieve superior quality, cost efficiency, and delivery speed.
- Process Optimization: Utilize production planning procedures to streamline processes, maximize resource utilization, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Team Development: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by training and motivating staff, establishing a professional teamwork environment, and implementing production planning techniques to drive productivity.
- Operational Coordination: Direct and coordinate plant operations to meet production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of materials to the shop floor.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee product quality control within the plant, maintaining high standards and addressing any deviations promptly.
- Forecasting and Reporting: Regularly update factory production forecasts and milestone dates, providing key performance indicators and forecasts on a monthly basis.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead production planning initiatives across business departments, including sales, project management, engineering, production, supply chain management, and field operations.
- Logistics Management: Inquire and track logistics for GEIS components and modules from feeder factories, ensuring seamless supply chain operations.
- Order Handling: Prepare comprehensive order management for both long-term and short-term planning, including coordinating Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for enhancement and implement structured improvement plans to drive operational excellence.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to EATON-MESH guidelines and promoting best practices in health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Adaptability: Execute any additional tasks assigned by management to fulfill job requirements and support organizational goals.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and possess the required skills:
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. A Master of Science (MS) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) is considered a valuable asset.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in production, manufacturing, or fabrication environments, with a proven track record of driving operational improvements.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and verbal) is essential for effective communication and collaboration.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and the ability to minimize the seven wastes (transport, inventory, motion, waiting, overproduction, overprocessing, and defects).
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, proficiency in spreadsheet analysis, and robust mathematical skills to interpret data and drive decision-making.
- Systems Knowledge: Expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and familiarity with SAP R/3, SAP BW, or other ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Methodologies: Hands-on application of advanced manufacturing methodologies and tools, including Kanban, 2-Bin System, Poka-Yoke, One-Piece Flow, Theory of Constraints (TOC), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively across diverse global teams.
- Planning Tools: Solid knowledge of planning tools and processes to optimize production schedules and resource allocation.
