Your Impact: Driving Progress Through Transportation Engineering

In this dynamic role, you will lead and contribute to high-impact transportation projects, collaborating with transit agencies, highway departments, state and local governments, and private sector clients. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of transportation engineering services, including:

• Comprehensive Transportation Planning: Conduct corridor studies, perform traffic analysis, and develop transportation plans that align with community needs and regulatory requirements.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Collect, analyze, and manage critical project data through research, stakeholder interviews, socioeconomic studies, and land use surveys to inform strategic planning.
• Environmental and Regulatory Compliance: Prepare essential documentation, such as categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, and environmental impact studies, ensuring projects meet federal, state, and local standards.
• Public Engagement and Communication: Represent HDR in public information meetings and hearings, fostering transparent dialogue with stakeholders, agencies, and the community to build consensus and support for project initiatives.
• Technical Leadership: Leverage your expertise in forecast modeling, traffic impact studies, and transportation design to deliver solutions that optimize efficiency, safety, and sustainability for urban arterials, rural highways, intersections, freeways, and interchanges.

What You Bring to HDR

To excel in this role, you will possess a blend of technical proficiency, leadership acumen, and a passion for innovation. The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, or a related field, complemented by a minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation planning and engineering. A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred for candidates with advanced expertise.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD software, Synchro, Vissim, and Microsoft Office applications, with experience in ArcInfo/ArcView for spatial data analysis.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable insights, paired with strong written and verbal communication skills to engage stakeholders and present technical concepts clearly.
• Project and People Management: A proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, leading teams, and delivering results within budget and on schedule. Demonstrated business development acumen and client relationship management skills are highly valued.
