Senior Mechanical Engineer – Industrial Projects Leadership Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and oversee industrial mechanical projects across Saudi Arabia. This pivotal position will involve comprehensive responsibility for the planning, coordination, execution, and technical supervision of complex mechanical projects within industrial plants. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in mechanical design, project execution, and site management, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, industry standards, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a central role in the successful delivery of projects by performing a wide range of technical and managerial duties, including:

• Technical Review and Documentation: Analyze project specifications, scope of work, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, layouts, and fabrication drawings to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Material and Procurement Management: Prepare accurate material take-offs, Bills of Materials (BOMs), purchase requisitions, and technical submittals to support procurement and logistics operations.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration with clients, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, procurement teams, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Site Supervision and Execution: Oversee site fabrication, equipment erection, and civil-interface works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
• Project Monitoring and Control: Track project schedules, resource allocation, material availability, work progress, and subcontractor performance to maintain project efficiency and mitigate risks.
• Vendor and Technical Evaluation: Review vendor drawings, technical proposals, equipment specifications, and fabrication documentation to validate compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, including resolving site technical issues and managing design or field modifications through approved procedures.
• Documentation and Handover: Prepare comprehensive method statements, inspection requests, progress reports, punch lists, as-built drawings, and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) documentation to support project completion and handover.
• Commissioning and Handover: Coordinate mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final project handover activities to ensure seamless transition to operations.

Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and project execution, with a strong focus on industrial mechanical projects and site execution.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software tools, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor, to support design, modeling, and documentation tasks.
• Exceptional technical project documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and compliant reports and drawings.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to address complex technical challenges and drive project success.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to various project sites across Saudi Arabia as required by project demands.

Work Environment

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, with frequent travel to project sites across the Kingdom.
