About the Role

We are establishing a cutting-edge, CMA-licensed FinTech investment firm based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, dedicated to delivering a state-of-the-art retail equity trading platform that unlocks seamless access to global investment opportunities. As we expand our asset management capabilities, we are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Senior Manager, Asset Management to spearhead the development, oversight, and strategic growth of our investment products and portfolios. This pivotal role will report directly to the CEO and will play a critical part in shaping the firm’s asset management framework while ensuring full compliance with Capital Market Authority (CMA) regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Asset Management will be entrusted with the following core responsibilities to drive the firm’s investment ambitions and operational excellence:

• Investment Strategy & Asset Management: Formulate and execute robust investment strategies that align with the firm’s long-term objectives, client expectations, risk tolerance, and regulatory mandates. Ensure these strategies are adaptable to evolving market conditions and client needs.
• Portfolio Management: Lead the construction, diversification, and continuous monitoring of investment portfolios. Oversee asset allocation, security selection, performance evaluation, and periodic reviews to optimize returns while managing risk within approved mandates.
• Investment Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, launch, and manage a diverse range of investment products and solutions tailored to client requirements and compliant with CMA standards. Ensure products remain competitive, innovative, and aligned with market trends.
• Regulatory Compliance & CMA Adherence: Ensure all asset management activities strictly adhere to CMA regulations, including those governing portfolio management, client asset protection, disclosure obligations, and conduct rules. Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities to maintain full compliance.
• Risk Management & Controls: Establish and enforce comprehensive risk management frameworks, including investment risk parameters, exposure limits, and monitoring mechanisms. Implement proactive controls to mitigate potential risks and safeguard portfolio integrity.
• Market Research & Investment Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial markets, macroeconomic trends, and investment opportunities to inform strategic decision-making. Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging asset classes to enhance investment outcomes.
• Performance Reporting & Analytics: Develop and deliver insightful performance reports and dashboards for senior management, clients, and stakeholders. Provide clear, data-driven insights on portfolio performance, risk exposure, and strategic adjustments.
• Governance & Operational Excellence: Design and maintain robust investment policies, procedures, and documentation to support the firm’s asset management operations. Ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with best practices in governance.
• Stakeholder & Client Engagement: Work closely with internal teams—including sales, marketing, and operations—to understand client investment objectives and deliver tailored solutions. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance client satisfaction and retention.
• Third-Party & Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external partners, including investment managers, custodians, brokers, data providers, and technology vendors. Ensure these partnerships support the firm’s operational efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.
• Team Leadership & Talent Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing asset management team capable of scaling with the firm’s growth. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development.
• Business Development & Growth Strategy: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand the asset management business, including the introduction of new investment products, strategies, and services. Contribute to the firm’s market positioning and competitive advantage in the Saudi financial landscape.

Qualifications & Competencies

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

• Regulatory Qualifications: Must hold CMA-approved qualifications, including CMA-1 and CMA-4 certifications.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MSc in Finance) or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, CAIA) is highly desirable.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of six years of progressive experience in asset management, portfolio management, investment management, wealth management, or a closely related field. Prior experience within a regulated financial institution in the GCC or Saudi market is strongly preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of investment products, portfolio construction methodologies, asset allocation strategies, financial markets, and investment risk management frameworks.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi CMA regulations, including but not limited to investment fund regulations, client asset protection rules, disclosure requirements, and conduct standards. Familiarity with international best practices in asset management is a plus.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, drive strategic initiatives, and collaborate effectively with senior leadership and external stakeholders. Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with investment management software, portfolio analytics tools, and financial data platforms. Experience with digital asset management platforms or FinTech solutions is advantageous.
