Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• SIEM Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain SIEM solutions to aggregate, correlate, and analyze security events from diverse sources across the organization’s network, endpoints, and cloud environments.
• Threat Detection and Monitoring: Develop and fine-tune correlation rules, alerts, and dashboards to identify suspicious activities, potential security incidents, and compliance violations in real-time.
• Incident Response Support: Collaborate with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and incident response teams to investigate and mitigate security incidents, ensuring timely containment and resolution of threats.
• Log Management and Compliance: Oversee log collection, retention, and archiving processes to meet regulatory requirements and internal policies, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
• Vendor and Tool Integration: Evaluate, integrate, and optimize third-party security tools, threat intelligence feeds, and SIEM plugins to enhance detection capabilities and operational efficiency.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor SIEM performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve system reliability, scalability, and response times.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of SIEM configurations, processes, and incident reports, and provide regular updates to stakeholders on security posture and trends.
• Security Awareness and Training: Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to educate teams on SIEM best practices, emerging threats, and security protocols.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, Splunk Core Certified, or IBM QRadar are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with leading SIEM platforms such as Splunk, IBM QRadar, ArcSight, or Microsoft Sentinel. Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) and familiarity with SIEM APIs is a plus.
• Security Operations: Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and incident response methodologies. Experience with SOC operations and security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) is advantageous.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to interpret complex security data to identify patterns and anomalies.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Problem-Solving: A proactive mindset with the ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and deliver solutions in fast-paced environments.
