SAP Basis Consultant

Position Overview

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and seamless operation of SAP systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across the organization. Key Responsibilities

• System Administration: Manage and maintain SAP systems, including installation, configuration, and upgrades, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Security Management: Implement and enforce robust security policies, including user access controls, authorization management, and compliance with industry standards to safeguard sensitive data.
• Database Administration: Oversee the administration of SAP databases, including backup, recovery, and performance tuning to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level technical support to resolve complex issues, including system crashes, performance degradation, and integration challenges, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver timely solutions.
• Patch and Update Management: Plan, test, and deploy SAP patches, updates, and upgrades to maintain system stability and compatibility with evolving business requirements.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, changes, and incidents, and generate regular reports to stakeholders on system health and performance metrics.
• Collaboration and Training: Work closely with IT teams, business users, and vendors to ensure smooth system operations, and provide training and guidance to end-users on SAP system functionalities.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Basis Administration) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration, with a proven track record in managing SAP systems in enterprise environments.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA, SAP Fiori, and other SAP modules. Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows Server), databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server), and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) is essential.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Certifications: SAP Basis certification or equivalent credentials from recognized institutions will be a significant advantage.
