In this full-time, full-spectrum role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, you will take ownership of the entire ETL lifecycle—from strategic extraction and transformation to monitoring, optimization, and continuous improvement. Your expertise will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring seamless data flow and actionable insights. With a focus on international projects—including engagements in Saudi Arabia—you’ll leverage your technical prowess to deliver scalable solutions while maintaining clear, professional communication in English for documentation, client presentations, and stakeholder updates.

Key Responsibilities

As the architect of our data pipelines, your role will encompass:

• End-to-End ETL Ownership: Design, develop, test, and optimize ETL workflows from extraction strategies to transformation logic, ensuring data integrity and performance at every stage.
• Advanced SQL and Data Modeling: Craft complex SQL queries for querying, statistical analysis, and optimization, enhancing processing efficiency while contributing to the design and maintenance of Hive-based data warehouses. Apply layered architectural principles (ODS, DWD, DWS, ADS) to structure data effectively.
• Pipeline Automation and Integration: Build and automate ETL workflows using Python, Java, and Shell, integrating critical big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka to create seamless, high-performance data ecosystems.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor ETL jobs, configure alerts, and resolve data latency and consistency issues to maintain operational excellence.
• Collaborative Problem-Solving: Partner with business teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, implement pipelines, and drive data quality initiatives—ensuring alignment between technical execution and business objectives.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends, evaluate emerging tools, and implement best practices to elevate ETL operations and maintain competitive edge.

Qualifications and Requirements

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in ETL or data engineering, with a proven track record of designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
• Expertise in SQL, including complex queries, subqueries, and optimization techniques to enhance data processing efficiency.
• Proficiency in at least one of Python, Java, or Shell, with a working knowledge of the others, to develop and automate ETL workflows.
• Experience with Hive and data warehouse layering (ODS, DWD, DWS, ADS), along with familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka in production environments.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting skills for scheduled data jobs, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Strong professional English skills, both written and spoken, to create technical documentation and present solutions to clients effectively.
• Availability to work in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a commitment to a Sunday–Thursday work schedule.
