Water Process Engineering Manager

Position Overview

Rawafid is seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Water Process Engineering Manager to lead the technical development, optimization, and execution of water and wastewater treatment systems. This pivotal role demands a deep understanding of process engineering principles and a commitment to delivering innovative, efficient, and compliant solutions. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance in the design, modeling, and operation of treatment facilities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership and Expertise: Provide authoritative technical leadership in the design, operation, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory standards.
• Process Innovation and Optimization: Evaluate, model, and simulate existing and emerging water and wastewater treatment technologies to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and performance. Conduct process audits to identify opportunities for improvement and operational excellence.
• Design and Documentation: Develop comprehensive process models, mathematical simulations, and sensitivity analyses using industry-standard engineering software. Prepare detailed Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), mass balance calculations, and process design reports. Size critical process equipment, including pumping stations, tanks, and treatment plant components, to meet project specifications.
• Project Support and Execution: Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of process designs. Prepare and review priced and unpriced Bills of Quantities (BOQs), engineering cost estimates, and technical specifications. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operation and maintenance manuals to support long-term facility performance.
• Troubleshooting and Compliance: Diagnose and resolve process-related challenges in water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and project requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers to foster professional growth and technical excellence.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders, including clients and regulatory bodies, to facilitate clear communication, alignment, and successful project delivery. Stay abreast of industry advancements and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 7-12 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater process engineering, with at least 7 years of hands-on experience within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience in process calculations, mass balances, equipment sizing, process modeling, and treatment plant design. Proficient in preparing P&IDs, BFDs, design reports, technical specifications, BOQs, and O&M documentation.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, environmental compliance, and applicable engineering standards. Familiarity with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environments is highly desirable.
• Collaboration and Communication: Strong ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, interact with clients, and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Certifications: Valid certification from the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is mandatory. Professional Engineer (PE) certification is strongly preferred.
