Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties, ensuring that our equipment remains at peak performance while adhering to the strictest safety and compliance standards:

• Equipment Maintenance and Technical Support: Perform comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance on biomedical, laboratory, and simulation equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Diagnose and resolve technical faults promptly, troubleshoot complex issues, and conduct repairs in alignment with manufacturer specifications. Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently, minimizing disruptions to critical academic and clinical activities.
• Installation and Commissioning: Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new medical and laboratory equipment. Conduct thorough functionality and safety checks to guarantee operational readiness before equipment handover. Ensure proper configuration and adherence to technical standards during the entire process.
• Calibration and Quality Assurance: Execute basic calibration and functional testing procedures to maintain equipment accuracy. Support quality assurance activities and equipment validation processes, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with external calibration services when necessary to uphold the highest standards of precision and reliability.
• Asset and Inventory Management: Maintain meticulous records of equipment inventory, service histories, and asset tracking systems. Monitor spare parts availability and manage technical tools and testing instruments effectively. Ensure proper identification, tagging, and documentation of all biomedical equipment to facilitate seamless tracking and maintenance.
• Documentation and Compliance: Keep accurate and detailed records of maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and testing activities. Support internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with institutional policies, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory standards. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and quality assurance measures in all operational activities.
• User Training and Academic Support: Provide comprehensive operational guidance and technical support to faculty, staff, and laboratory users. Ensure equipment readiness for laboratory sessions, practical classes, and examinations by coordinating maintenance schedules to minimize disruptions. Collaborate closely with academic teams to support seamless learning and research activities.
• Vendor Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between our institution and equipment suppliers, as well as external service providers. Supervise vendor maintenance activities, verify service quality, and ensure that all external support aligns with our operational and safety standards.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with a strong technical background and a passion for maintaining the highest standards in biomedical equipment. The successful candidate will possess:

• Education: A diploma degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field. Additional certifications in biomedical equipment maintenance are a significant advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of hands-on experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, preferably in an academic, clinical, or research setting. Familiarity with a wide range of medical devices, laboratory systems, and simulation equipment is essential.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of biomedical equipment, medical devices, and laboratory systems. Proficiency in preventive maintenance, calibration practices, and troubleshooting techniques. Strong understanding of regulatory standards, safety protocols, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently. Excellent documentation and reporting abilities to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance. Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, schedules, and multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Communication: Fluent in both Arabic and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with faculty, staff, vendors, and external service providers.
