Concrete Structure Design Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Concrete Structure Design Manager to join our dynamic team at Rawafid in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will lead and oversee the design and engineering of concrete structures, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulatory compliance, and project-specific requirements. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable structural solutions that align with our organization’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Team Management: Provide strong leadership to a team of structural engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Mentor and develop talent to enhance technical capabilities and project execution.
• Design Oversight: Oversee the entire concrete structure design process, from conceptualization to finalization, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with international codes such as ACI, Eurocode, and local regulations. Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Project Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and clients, to ensure seamless integration of structural designs with overall project goals. Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to address design-related challenges and optimize constructability.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices in concrete structure design, such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), advanced analysis tools, and eco-friendly materials. Promote innovation to enhance project outcomes and reduce environmental impact.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement robust quality control measures to ensure all designs meet the highest standards of safety, durability, and performance. Conduct regular audits and reviews to maintain compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Budget and Schedule Management: Collaborate with project managers to develop and adhere to project budgets and timelines. Optimize resource allocation and design processes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs without compromising quality.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical liaison between the design team and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and third-party consultants. Present design proposals, progress reports, and technical solutions in a clear and professional manner.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong academic background and extensive practical experience in structural engineering, with a focus on concrete structures. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, with a specialization in concrete structures. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., P.E., CEng) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in structural design, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity. Experience in the construction industry, particularly in large-scale infrastructure or commercial projects, is preferred.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or similar tools. Familiarity with BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD) is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of international design codes and standards, including ACI 318, Eurocode 2, and local Saudi building regulations. Strong understanding of load calculations, seismic design, and foundation engineering.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
• Proficiency in English is required; Arabic language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
