Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Auditor specializing in Audit & Assurance within the Utilities & Energy sector to join our dynamic team in Riyadh. Key Responsibilities

• Leadership in Audit Engagements: Oversee and execute audit engagements for clients in the Utilities & Energy sector, ensuring adherence to international auditing standards and local regulatory requirements. Manage audit teams to deliver high-quality, timely, and accurate audit reports.
• Financial Statement Audits: Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial statements, internal controls, and risk management processes to identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, or areas of non-compliance. Provide actionable recommendations to enhance financial integrity and operational efficiency.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of evolving regulatory frameworks, industry trends, and best practices in the Utilities & Energy sector. Ensure audit processes align with relevant laws, standards, and Deloitte’s methodologies.
• Stakeholder Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, senior management, and regulatory bodies. Communicate audit findings, risks, and recommendations clearly and concisely to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Foster a collaborative work environment by mentoring junior team members, sharing expertise, and promoting professional development. Contribute to the growth and success of the Audit & Assurance practice in the region.
• Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify and evaluate financial, operational, and compliance risks specific to the Utilities & Energy sector. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance internal controls for clients.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CIA are highly desirable. A Master’s degree or additional qualifications in Energy, Utilities, or Risk Management will be considered an advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive audit experience, with at least 3 years in the Utilities & Energy sector. Prior exposure to Big 4 firms or similar organizations is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Standards on Auditing (ISA), and local regulatory requirements. Familiarity with audit software (e.g., ACL, TeamMate) and ERP systems is essential.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and derive meaningful insights. Proven track record of resolving audit issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Communication & Leadership: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and driving projects to completion.
• Cultural Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
