Position Overview

Gulfaar International Contracting L.L.C, a leading engineering and construction firm based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Piping Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality control and assurance in welding operations for piping systems, adhering to international codes and client specifications. Key Responsibilities

• Quality Control and Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of welding processes, materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with applicable codes (e.g., ASME, API, AWS) and project requirements. Verify welder qualifications and certifications to maintain adherence to industry standards.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action plans. Maintain accurate records of welding procedures, inspections, and certifications for audits and regulatory compliance.
• On-Site Supervision: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and welding teams to oversee piping welding activities. Identify potential issues and recommend solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project timelines are met.
• Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on welding techniques, materials selection, and best practices to optimize performance and durability of piping systems. Stay updated with the latest advancements in welding technology and industry regulations.
• Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and ensure all welding activities comply with local and international safety standards.
• Client and Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between the client, project teams, and regulatory bodies to address concerns, provide updates, and resolve issues related to welding quality and compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, a diploma in welding technology with extensive industry experience may be considered.
• Certifications: Must hold certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Quality Control Manager (QCM), Certified Quality Supervisor (QCS), or Certified Quality Inspector (QCI) from recognized bodies like AWS, ASQ, or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in welding inspection and quality control, preferably in the oil, gas, or industrial sectors. Experience with piping systems and familiarity with relevant codes (ASME B31.3, API 1104, etc.) is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW), metallurgy, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as radiography, ultrasonic testing, and magnetic particle inspection.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

Work Environment

This position is based on-site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with frequent travel to project locations as needed. The role involves working in challenging conditions, including outdoor environments, and may require extended hours or shift work to meet project deadlines. Candidates must be willing to relocate and adapt to the demands of the role.
