Batterjee Medical College (BMC) in Jeddah is seeking a passionate and driven Faculty Member in Health Management to join its esteemed academic team. Core Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Support

The Faculty Member will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Health Management and related disciplines. This includes:

• Implementing innovative, student-centered teaching methodologies to enhance learning outcomes.
• Incorporating digital and online learning technologies to create engaging and accessible educational experiences.
• Designing comprehensive course materials, assessments, and learning activities aligned with approved program learning outcomes.
• Actively participating in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contributing to academic quality assurance processes, including learning outcome assessments and program evaluations.
• Providing academic advising and support to students, ensuring their success and professional growth.
• Maintaining accurate academic records and completing all required documentation in a timely manner.

Research & Scholarly Activities

The role requires a strong commitment to research and scholarly contributions, including:

• Conducting high-impact research in Health Management, Healthcare Administration, Health Policy, Health Information Management, or related fields.
• Publishing scholarly work in reputable peer-reviewed national and international journals to enhance the academic reputation of the program and the college.
• Participating in conferences, seminars, research projects, and other scholarly activities to disseminate knowledge and foster collaboration.
• Supervising and supporting student research projects, capstone initiatives, and thesis development.
• Contributing to the strengthening of the research profile and academic standing of the Health Management Program and the College.

Student Mentorship & Development

The Faculty Member will provide academic mentorship and career guidance to students, helping them develop essential competencies such as:

• Leadership and analytical skills tailored to the healthcare sector.
• Effective communication and professionalism in academic and clinical settings.
• Research acumen and critical thinking abilities through mentorship in research projects and capstone initiatives.
• Engagement in academic, professional, and research activities to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

Academic Service & Engagement

Active participation in program, departmental, and College committees, meetings, and academic activities is essential. Responsibilities include:

• Contributing to curriculum development, quality assurance, accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supporting academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the Head of Program or College leadership.
• Representing the College in professional organizations, conferences, community outreach activities, and external engagements to enhance visibility and collaboration.
• Performing other academic duties and assignments as directed by the Head of Program or College leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A Master’s and PhD degrees in Healthcare Administration, Health Management, Health Policy, or a closely related field from accredited institutions.
• Relevant professional certifications or specialized training in Health Management or related areas are highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level within a higher education institution.
• Demonstrated experience in academic teaching, assessment, and student supervision.
• Proven ability to manage academic and administrative responsibilities effectively.
• Experience in online learning, digital education, and assessment design is highly desirable.
• Relevant professional or industry experience within the healthcare sector is considered a significant advantage.

Research Expectations

Candidates must demonstrate a strong research capability, including:

• Publications in peer-reviewed journals, with at least one international peer-reviewed publication in Healthcare Management or a closely related field.
• Ability to lead and contribute to research projects that address contemporary challenges in health management.
