Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pre-Sales Engineer – Low Current/ELV to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the technical backbone of our Business Development and Sales functions, providing expert guidance and innovative solutions to meet the evolving demands of our clients. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire pre-sales lifecycle, from initial technical evaluation and solution development to costing, proposal preparation, and final submission. This position is ideal for a technically proficient professional with a passion for bridging the gap between complex technical requirements and commercial success.
Core Responsibilities
The Pre-Sales Engineer will play a critical role in driving project opportunities and ensuring the delivery of technically sound and commercially viable solutions. Your duties will include:
- Technical Collaboration and Solution Development: Work in close partnership with Business Development and Sales teams to identify customer needs, project opportunities, and tailored technical solutions across key business areas such as Telecommunication, ICT, ELV, Security & Safety Systems, OSP & Civil Infrastructure, Fiber Optic Networks, and Smart Infrastructure Solutions.
- Document Analysis and Compliance: Thoroughly review and analyze Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Invitations to Tender (ITTs), technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), drawings, and other project documentation to ensure alignment with customer requirements, industry standards, and approved vendor specifications.
- Customer Engagement and Technical Support: Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, clarification sessions, site visits, workshops, and presentations to provide expert insights and address technical queries. Offer robust support during negotiations and clarification phases to secure project wins.
- Value Engineering and Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for value engineering, alternative solutions, and cost-effective approaches without compromising technical integrity or quality. Contribute to the preparation of accurate project cost estimates and technical pricing.
- Proposal Preparation and Documentation: Support the development of comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, including detailed technical write-ups, compliance statements, methodologies, system descriptions, and solution narratives. Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Material Take-Offs (MTO), equipment schedules, technical datasheets, and system architecture documents.
- Technical Calculations and Sizing: Conduct essential engineering calculations, including equipment sizing, link budgets, fiber requirements, network architecture, and other technical assessments to ensure optimal system performance.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Develop and maintain technical compliance matrices against customer specifications. Identify and document technical deviations, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications prior to proposal submission to mitigate risks and ensure transparency.
- Supplier and Vendor Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical documentation, quotations, compliance statements, and solution recommendations. Ensure all proposed products and systems adhere to customer-approved manufacturer/vendor lists.

Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications in relevant disciplines are advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Pre-Sales Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Business Development, with a strong focus on Low Current/ELV systems, Telecommunication, ICT, Security & Safety Systems, or Fiber Optic/OSP Infrastructure.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with RFQ/RFP analysis, technical proposal preparation, BOQ/MTO development, system architecture design, and engineering calculations. Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements is essential.
- Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of the Low Current/ELV sector, including emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in areas such as structured cabling, fire alarm systems, access control, CCTV, and smart infrastructure.
