Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technique Specialist to join our clinical laboratory team. In this critical role, you will perform a wide range of routine and advanced laboratory tests across multiple disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology, and coagulation. Additionally, you will contribute to information processing, staff training, and quality control initiatives to ensure the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and patient safety. Key Responsibilities

The Laboratory Technique Specialist will be responsible for the following core duties:

• Sample Processing and Analysis: Receive and process blood and body fluid samples, ensuring proper pre-analytical handling and documentation. Perform analytical processes on hematology, biochemistry, serology, and hormone laboratory equipment, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Quality Assurance and Control: Conduct daily equipment checks to verify operational safety and accuracy. Perform quality control tests on reagents to maintain the integrity of laboratory results. Analyze blood cells through microscopic techniques, including counting and identifying cellular components, and prepare and examine urine and stool samples for diagnostic purposes.
• Inventory and Resource Management: Monitor laboratory supply levels, anticipate needs, and place orders to ensure uninterrupted workflow. Utilize resources efficiently to conserve laboratory supplies and equipment while maintaining optimal performance.
• Data Management and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing technological findings. Communicate critical test results to medical staff in a timely and professional manner to support patient care decisions.
• Compliance and Safety: Maintain a safe and clean working environment by strictly adhering to laboratory procedures, infection-control policies, and hazardous waste management protocols. Protect patient confidentiality and hospital integrity by handling sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
• Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and best practices by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance technical knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment and Schedule

The Laboratory Technique Specialist will operate in a fully indoor clinical laboratory setting. This is a full-time position with a structured schedule of six working days followed by one day off, in accordance with the department’s approved shift plan. The role requires adherence to an 8-hour workday, ensuring consistent coverage and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Medical Science (Laboratory Section) or an equivalent field.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of hands-on practical experience in a clinical laboratory setting following graduation.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Office applications and Health Information Systems, to support data management and reporting tasks.
• Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Arabic, with the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
