Your Role as a Senior Engineer - Transportation

As a Senior Engineer - Transportation at AECOM, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transportation infrastructure by leading and executing critical engineering assignments with precision and expertise. This position demands a professional who combines deep technical knowledge in design methodology and project controls with the ability to independently manage engineering deliverables from inception to completion. You will be entrusted with overseeing moderate to complex portions of transportation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Data Analysis and Application: Collect, analyze, and correlate engineering data using established procedures. Apply your extensive design background to inform critical decisions, ensuring recommendations are grounded in technical rigor and industry best practices.
• Design Execution and Documentation: Perform detailed engineering assignments that encompass calculations, testing, and comprehensive design documentation. Demonstrate proficiency in design methodology and adherence to industry standards to deliver robust and innovative solutions.
• Innovative Problem Solving: Develop and propose engineering approaches to address unique challenges by adapting standard procedures. Leverage your project experience and technical acumen to devise creative solutions that enhance project outcomes.
• Project Management and Controls: Manage project elements in alignment with agreed-upon budgets, schedules, and project management controls (PMC) requirements. Track progress, identify discrepancies, and proactively address issues to ensure deliverables meet stringent quality standards.
• Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers, sharing insights on design methodology, engineering procedures, and project controls best practices. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
• Compliance and Documentation: Maintain meticulous design documentation and project records in compliance with PMC standards and organizational requirements. Ensure all deliverables are accurate, up-to-date, and readily accessible for review and audit purposes.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred and may provide a competitive advantage.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in transportation engineering, design, or project management, with at least 5 years of direct work experience in Saudi Arabia (KSA). A proven track record in managing engineering deliverables from conception to completion is essential.
• Technical Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in transportation engineering design methodology and standards, along with proficiency in engineering calculations, testing, and design documentation. Strong familiarity with project management controls (PMC) systems and tools is required.
• Project Oversight: Solid understanding of budget management, schedule control, and project delivery processes. Experience conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with engineering standards is critical.
• Professional Credentials: A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent engineering credential is mandatory. Proficiency in relevant engineering software and design tools is also required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with project controls software and enterprise project management platforms, a demonstrated track record of mentoring junior engineering staff, and familiarity with large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects in the Middle East region are highly desirable. Knowledge of Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations, and engineering standards, as well as professional certifications in project management, will further strengthen your candidacy.
