Key Responsibilities

The Radiology Technique Specialist will execute a range of essential duties to support the radiology department’s operations. These responsibilities include:

• Patient Preparation and Procedure Execution: Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them correctly, adjusting immobilization devices, and operating equipment to achieve optimal imaging results. This includes setting exposure factors and ensuring the equipment is calibrated for accuracy.
• Patient Care and Communication: Foster a supportive and reassuring environment by addressing patient concerns, explaining procedures in a clear and compassionate manner, and answering any questions to alleviate anxiety. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to build trust and cooperation.
• Radiation Safety and Protection: Prioritize the safety of patients and staff by adhering to radiation protection protocols. This involves using beam-restrictive devices, implementing patient shielding, and applying knowledge of exposure factors to minimize radiation exposure while maintaining image quality.
• Quality Assurance and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the production of high-quality radiographs by following established standards and procedures. This includes developing films, evaluating radiographic results, and making necessary adjustments to maintain diagnostic accuracy. Additionally, perform daily maintenance on x-ray equipment and processors to ensure optimal functionality.
• Infection Control and Workplace Safety: Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment by strictly adhering to infection-control policies and compliance regulations. This includes proper sterilization of equipment, adherence to safety protocols, and ensuring the cleanliness of the radiology room.
• Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in radiology technology and techniques by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in training programs. This commitment to learning ensures the delivery of cutting-edge care.

Work Environment and Schedule

The Radiology Technique Specialist will operate in a fully indoor clinical setting, adhering to a structured 6-day workweek with 1 designated day off. Working hours are aligned with an 8-hour shift schedule, approved by the Head of Department, to ensure seamless coverage and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Medical Science – Radiology section, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in radiology following graduation, with hands-on exposure to diagnostic imaging techniques and equipment maintenance.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in office software and health information systems to manage records, process requests, and generate reports efficiently.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Arabic, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
