Field Assistant

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Assistant to support our Exploration Field programs under the guidance of the Field Supervisor. This role is critical to the success of our field operations, ensuring efficient execution of geological and geophysical tasks while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fieldwork, a commitment to teamwork, and a proven ability to operate in diverse and challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Sampling and Surveying: Assist in conducting trench sampling, drillcore cutting and sampling, RC (Reverse Circulation) sampling, geophysical ground surveys, and topographic surveying to support exploration activities.
• Downhole and Water Monitoring: Participate in downhole surveys and water monitoring activities to ensure accurate data collection and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Core Handling and Maintenance: Manage core tray handling and maintain the core yard to ensure proper organization, storage, and safety of geological samples.
• Operational Support: Provide logistical and operational support to field teams, including equipment setup, maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively within multinational teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment while contributing to project objectives.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications and requirements:

• Education: A High School diploma is required, with a preference for candidates holding a relevant Diploma qualification in geology, environmental science, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of relevant field experience, with hands-on involvement in geophysical ground surveys and field programs such as RC, Diamond drilling, and trenching.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in field sampling techniques, surveying equipment, and core handling procedures. Familiarity with safety and environmental standards is essential.
• Licenses and Certifications: A full driving license is mandatory to ensure mobility and flexibility in field operations.
• Safety and Compliance: Demonstrated commitment to maintaining excellent safety and environmental standards, with a proactive approach to risk management and regulatory compliance.
