As a Member of the MBG Test Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Lenovo’s mobile phone manufacturing operations. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare, validate, maintain, and enhance production test processes, test environments, test stations, and test code configurations throughout the entire product lifecycle—from New Product Introduction (NPI) and pilot runs to ramp-up and mass production phases. This role is critical to ensuring operational stability, optimizing test execution efficiency, and driving continuous improvement in production testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Process Development and Validation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and validate robust test processes that meet stringent quality and performance standards. Ensure that test methodologies are aligned with production requirements and industry best practices.
- Maintenance of Test Environments: Oversee the setup, maintenance, and optimization of test environments, including hardware configurations, software tools, and automation frameworks. Ensure that test stations are fully operational and capable of supporting high-volume production demands.
- Test Code Configuration and Management: Develop, configure, and manage test code to support automated and manual testing procedures. Implement version control and ensure that test scripts are up-to-date, efficient, and scalable to accommodate evolving product specifications.
- Issue Analysis and Resolution: Conduct thorough analysis of test failures and production issues to identify root causes. Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance test efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve overall product quality. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to propose innovative solutions that elevate Lenovo’s manufacturing capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between test engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and product development teams to facilitate seamless communication and alignment of objectives. Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving sessions to ensure a holistic approach to production testing.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates should possess a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and a proactive mindset. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in electronics manufacturing, test engineering, or a related field, with hands-on experience in production environments. Proficiency in test automation tools, scripting languages, and familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) is highly desirable. Additionally, strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting are essential. A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered.
