As the Chief Accountant, you will serve as the architect of our accounting function, blending technical expertise with strategic foresight to strengthen financial governance, enhance operational efficiency, and align financial strategies with our long-term vision. Key Responsibilities

You will lead with accountability and precision, overseeing the entire accounting lifecycle to ensure financial accuracy and reliability. Key responsibilities include:

• Financial Leadership and Governance: Direct the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management, and fixed asset accounting, ensuring all transactions adhere to approved policies and regulatory standards.
• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, guaranteeing deadlines are met with meticulous attention to detail. Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with IFRS or applicable accounting standards, while ensuring strict adherence to local tax laws, VAT regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Audit and Regulatory Support: Coordinate external audits, provide comprehensive documentation, and drive timely resolution of audit findings. Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns, VAT filings, and regulatory reports, maintaining seamless compliance with evolving legal frameworks.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Lead the annual budgeting process, aligning financial allocations with strategic objectives. Support forecasting, financial planning, and resource allocation, while monitoring budget performance, analyzing variances, and recommending actionable corrective measures.
• Process Optimization and Control: Identify and address control gaps, compliance risks, and process inefficiencies. Implement robust internal financial controls, strengthen accounting procedures, and promote a culture of integrity and ethical accounting. Drive initiatives to automate manual processes, enhance transparency, and integrate cutting-edge accounting technologies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Partner closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues, support operational needs, and facilitate informed decision-making.
• Team Development and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team by providing technical guidance, establishing performance expectations, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Allocate responsibilities effectively and promote continuous professional growth.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Proven expertise in financial reporting, external audits, statutory compliance, and financial controls.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret financial data for strategic decision-making.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
